At personalstudio, we provide professional interior design services rather than physical products. This Return Policy outlines our approach to service agreements, project modifications, and refund eligibility for our atmospheric design services.

Nature of Our Services

Our services include space analysis, atmospheric design consultation, material and texture selection, lighting design planning, project coordination, and implementation oversight. These are custom professional services tailored specifically to each client's space and requirements. Unlike physical goods, design services involve intellectual property creation and cannot be "returned" in a traditional sense.

Initial Consultation Period

We offer initial consultations to ensure mutual understanding of project scope, design vision, and expectations. During this phase, clients can evaluate our approach and determine if our atmospheric design methodology aligns with their needs. This consultation period allows both parties to make informed decisions before committing to full project engagement.

Deposits and Advance Payments

Project deposits are required to secure our services and cover initial design work including space analysis, research, concept development, and preliminary planning. These deposits are generally non-refundable as they compensate for time, expertise, and resources allocated to beginning your project. Specific deposit terms are outlined in individual service agreements.

Project Cancellation Policy

Clients may cancel projects with written notice at any time. However, cancellation does not automatically entitle clients to refunds. Upon cancellation, clients are responsible for:

  • All design work completed up to the cancellation date
  • Expenses incurred on the client's behalf, including material samples, vendor fees, and travel costs
  • Non-refundable deposits covering initial consultation and design development
  • A reasonable percentage of the total project fee based on work completed

We will provide a detailed accounting of work completed and expenses incurred. Any unused portion of payments, minus non-refundable deposits and completed work, may be eligible for partial refund at our discretion.

Design Revisions and Modifications

Our service packages include a specified number of design revision rounds. Additional revisions beyond the agreed scope may incur extra fees. We encourage thorough feedback during designated review periods to ensure the design evolves according to your vision without unnecessary additional costs.

Major changes to project scope after design approval may require revised contracts and additional fees to cover the extra work involved.

Client Dissatisfaction

Client satisfaction is our priority. If you are dissatisfied with our services, we encourage you to communicate concerns immediately so we can address them. We will make reasonable efforts to modify designs or approaches to meet your expectations within the original scope of work.

If, after good-faith efforts to resolve concerns, you remain dissatisfied, we will discuss options including project modification, reassignment to another team member, or mutually agreeable separation. Refund eligibility in such cases depends on work completed and will be evaluated case by case.

Material and Product Returns

When we facilitate material or product purchases on your behalf, return policies are governed by the specific vendors or suppliers. We will assist in coordinating returns when possible, but cannot guarantee acceptance of returns by third parties. Restocking fees, shipping costs, and vendor-specific policies apply.

Custom-ordered or specially fabricated items are typically non-returnable. We will clearly communicate which selections are final before ordering.

Implementation and Installation Issues

We provide design services and project coordination but are not responsible for issues arising from contractor work, material defects, or installation problems. Claims related to construction quality, material performance, or installation errors should be directed to the responsible contractors or suppliers.

We will assist in identifying issues and coordinating resolutions when possible, as part of our commitment to successful project outcomes.

Force Majeure and Unavoidable Delays

We are not liable for delays or inability to perform services due to circumstances beyond our control, including natural disasters, material shortages, permit delays, or other force majeure events. Such circumstances do not constitute grounds for refunds of payments for completed work.

Dispute Resolution Process

If disputes arise regarding service quality, payments, or project outcomes, we encourage resolution through direct communication. If needed, we will engage in mediation to reach mutually acceptable solutions. Legal action should be considered only after exhausting good-faith resolution efforts.

How to Request Consideration for Refund

To request consideration for a refund or discuss project cancellation:

  • Submit your request in writing via email to our office
  • Include your contract number, project details, and specific concerns
  • Provide documentation of issues or reasons for cancellation
  • Allow up to 15 business days for our response and review

All refund requests are evaluated individually based on circumstances, work completed, and contractual obligations.
